Soul of Cville Festival – Creative Direction, Marketing, and Community Engagement

Overview: Soul of Cville is a three-day festival celebrating Black excellence in Central Virginia through music, art, fashion, food, and community programming. With free, family-friendly events spanning live performances, a Black artisan market, panel discussions, film screenings, and a youth scholarship initiative, the festival needed cohesive branding, strong outreach, and logistical coordination to honor its mission and engage diverse audiences.

Creative Strategy: As a board committee member and Marketing Director, I led creative direction, developed the brand identity, managed design for signage, programs, and wayfinding, and launched the event website. I oversaw PR, advertising, social media, vendor communications, and coordinated logistics to ensure a welcoming, unified experience that reflected the festival’s spirit of empowerment and cultural pride.

Impact: The festival drew thousands of attendees over three days, strengthened local partnerships, elevated Black creatives and businesses, and introduced the L.I.T. scholarship to support youth empowerment—cementing Soul of Cville as a cornerstone event for the region.
